Position Description -Product Director, Apparel – China


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Apparel product Line Management:
–Develop annual product & category strategic plan of apparel in line with overall company objectives and potential business opportunities.
–Analyze and develop insight from various market information.
–Develop key stories and seasonal ranges that both aligning the brand direction and driving the business to achieve the targets.
–Drive and consolidate commercial input process with full cross-functional collaboration taking into account regional needs and customer/consumer insights.
–Transfer product knowledge to sales & marketing teams to ensure consistent understanding towards products/key concepts to be able to present a professional image in front of both customers and consumers.
–Achieve the target cost ratio, margin and category budget.
·Communication:
–Be the means of contact and communication with AP/ Global business unit and development engines.
–Coordinate with brand communications/retail marketing/operations/planning teams to have integrated and on-time category product launches.
–Prepare and organize trade meeting presentations, tools and packages.
–Coordinate and communicate with AP team for category plans, performance and review.
–Transfer product knowledge to sales & marketing teams to ensure consistent understanding towards products/key concepts to be able to present a professional image in front of both customers and consumers.
–Achieve the target cost ratio, margin and category budget.
·System and Process:
–Implement seasonal preparation process to facilitate company business cycle.
–Develop & maintain the product management calendar.
–Lead the forecasting process from product prospective .
–Implement and maintain reporting processes for category team.
·People Management:
–Define specific targets and review with each direct report in line with China guidelines: plan include goals, key job responsibilities, competency development, measures and follow-up activities.
–Provide supervisions, coaching and feedback to subordinates, insisting on integrity and openness.
–Manage, develop and motivate team in alignment with china organization.
–Pay attention to team member performance improvement.

REQUIRMENT:

·Bachelor's degree in product or business related discipline is required.
·A good product professional with 10+ years working experience and at least 5 years management experience in retail or relevant fields.
·Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills.
·Industry - ideally with sports/apparel/fashion background.
·Excellent English speaking and writing capability.
·A self-starter or self-motivated, positive, confident attitude, innovative capabilities
